💨 The weather
The prolonged period of severe weather brought high winds and heavy rain across our north and south distribution areas, with wind speeds in excess of 65mph in coastal areas and gusts of over 60mph across inland regions - leading to damage to the overhead electricity network from fallen trees, branches and other wind-borne debris.
We would like to thank customers for their patience as our engineers worked to restore power in challenging conditions, including significant flooding in some areas.
Unsettled weather is set to continue. We will continue to monitor forecasts and ensure our teams are ready to deal with any potential disruption to the network.
