Watch the video to hear our apprentices and trainee engineers, including Oscar and Sam, talk about their careers with SSEN.

Apprentices and trainee engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) attended DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Moray's 'Meet the Employer' event today to promote apprenticeship and trainee engineer opportunities to local school pupils and the wider community.

This event forms part of Moray's Modern Apprenticeship Week, organised by DYW Moray, an industry led board which aims to reduce youth unemployment by creating stronger links between business and education.

Oscar Baird, Trainee Engineer, Sam Barnes, Apprentice Jointer/Linesman and Shona Horn, Customer Relationship Manager from SSEN's Elgin depot attended the event to speak to students about careers in engineering and the opportunities the network operator currently has available in the north of Scotland.

Applications are open for SSEN's Engineering Craft Apprenticeship and Trainee Engineer programmes until Sunday 19 March.

SSEN will also be attending an event this evening (Wednesday 8 March) at the Skills Development Scotland Office, High Street, Elgin between 4.00pm and 7.00pm to promote careers in the engineering industry to parents, guardians, young people and training provides. This event is a drop-in session and open to all.
