We’re investing £10.6million to boost Bordon’s electricity network
The trenching works to install the cable ducts which began in in May 2023 are almost complete. The team is moving to the next phase of the project to connect the ducts and pull the cable through. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we carry out these essential works.
The joint bay work and cable pull has started and is expected to complete by Summer 2025.
To allow the team to safely install the joint bays and feed the cable through, most of the work will be carried out under temporary traffic lights, helping to reduce the need for full road closures wherever possible. However, two road closures are required to complete specific parts of the work safely; and these are listed below. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted, and maps of the closures and diversions are available on our website.
Where is the team working?
Lindford Road near Lyndale Cottage: 17 February to 25 February - These works will take place under temporary traffic lights.
Liphook Road near Windsor Road: 21 February to 5 March - These works will take place under temporary traffic lights.
Community events
Thank you to the 78 people who attended our community events at The Shed in Bordon on 22 January and St Nicholas’ Church in West Worldham on 4 February.
Details of any future events will be shared here, and key local stakeholders will be kept informed.
Where is the team going next?
Oakhanger Road near Yew Tree Cottage: 5 March to 16 March. These works will take place under temporary traffic lights.
Remainder of the advertised programme
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the works below have been put on hold until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
In the meantime, no works will take place and traffic on the roads below will remain unaffected.
- Louisburg Avenue near Artillery Drive: New date TBC.
- Oakhanger Road near Old Station Way: New date TBC.
- Oakhanger Road near Bins Cottage: New date TBC.
- Caker Lane near Worldham Golf Course: New date TBC.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we review the programme for these essential works. We will share a detailed plan of the new programme, once it is agreed with Hampshire Highways.
